Oral Competition

Saturday, March 3, 2007

The Saginaw City Wide Elementary Spelling Bee is offered to all elementary schools within the city limits of our school district; including parochial schools.

The Spelling Bee has two dimensions of competition. First, we have the Written portion of the Bee. Second, we have the Oral portion of the Bee. All participants of the Oral competition must also participate in the Written Competition. Prizes are awarded to spellers who place in the top three of each competition.

We will use the "Spell It” 2007 as our word list guide. Because of a change in the word list from the “Paidea” to “Spell It,” we are making a minor format change. All word listed in a word list in “Spell It” are eligible to be used. Words listed as “Challenge words” are eligible to be used where we have previously used “Intermediate” words.

Elementary Spelling Bee:

The City Wide Elementary Spelling Bee will be held at the Ruben Daniels Center, 1903 N. Niagara. The Daniels Center is near the corner of West Genesee Avenue. Community Education Department is in the Ruben Daniels Center. Office hours are 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. on Monday through Friday.
