FUNDRAISING
How can you help the school in an on-going basis at no cost ?
Send in your used ink/laser cartridges to the office for recycling!
Send in your used cell phones for recycling--the school gets $3.00 each for these!
Collect BoxTops off of General Mills and other products.
Shop at Target with your Target credit card--make sure Zilwaukee School is listed for the % back to the schools.
Shop at Meijer--enroll in Meijer Meijer Community Rewards and our school gets cash back! Our organization code is: 577147
Collect Tyson Food Project A+ labels and send into the school.

Visitor Guidelines
Please enter and exit through FRONT DOORS ONLY next to the main office. All other doors are locked for security.
Sign in as a visitor. Sign out when leaving the building.
Obtain a visitor's identification badge (green card) to wear while on premises. Return visitors badge when leaving.
Obtain prior approval of a classroom visit from classroom teacher or building administrator.

Lake Huron Credit Union visits our school each week and the students are able to make deposits into their accounts. What a great way for our students to save!!

Athletics
Mr. Hellebuyck is our new Athletic Director for the 2007-2008 school year. Any questions regarding Athletics should be directed to him at: mhellebuyck@spsd.net .
Beginning this year, the following criteria must be met:
Each student athlete must have a minimum 2.0 grade point average in order to participate in sports.
Permission slip and $10.00 insurance fee must be paid PRIOR to any student participating, this includes practices as well.
Middle School students must also have their sports physicals turned in as well as their insurance fee, prior to participation.

The Zilwaukee PTC
The parent group meets the second Tuesday of every odd month @ 6:30pm and at 9:00am every even month . Babysitting is provided during the evening meeting. Please come and share your thoughts and ideas on how to insure a successful school year!

Showcasing Our Success
Good things are happening at our school, and we want to share some of them with you.
The success of Zilwaukee School is directly related to our dedicated parents, teachers and school staff and our conscientious students. The very positive atmosphere here has been strengthened through the involvement of our parents and community support.
Our fourth and fifth graders attend the Hartley Outdoor Education Center.
Our combined bands from grade 5 - 8 played in the Zilwaukee Sesquicentennial parade.
